College Recruiting

For student athletes looking for collegiate athletic opportunities, SWSI offers this exclusive program to provide the best shot at playing at the next level. SWSI treats the recruiting process as a job interview to promote professional skill development and character building while transforming high school student athletes into well-rounded young adults.

  • Athletic Portfolio
  • School List, Bio Sheet, Interview Skills, Contacting Coaches
  • Athletic School Lists
  • How to Interview with Athletic Coaches
  • Highlight Video
  • Presentations & Workshops

SWSI strives to improve the character of young athletes by building a strong foundation of professional skills and personal integrity.

Our mentoring program was founded to increase the number of New Mexico High School athletes to successfully reach college and explore athletic opportunities. The process is ultimately geared towards those athletes with requisite skills and desire to play at the college level. Equally as important is the growth and discovery process each student makes through this process as they mature.

The program will help each student athlete:

  • Improve character
  • Build professional skills and personal integrity
  • Prepare for all facets of collegiate selection and application

The process provides students with the extra edge to generate attention from collegiate coaches, and make their college search simple and successful. We will bridge the gap between current athletic recruiting companies, educational consulting companies and traditional mentoring programs. We offer services to reduce the need for multiple agencies and save to reduce costs and increase value.

Each mentor will provide the student athlete professional, one-on-one consultations that work through various steps of the college selection process. We understand that effective communication between parents, children, coaches and college programs is a crucial part of this selection process. The program will help the student understand the role of decision making as it pertains to their future. Heavy emphasis will be placed on being proactive and accountable for their actions.

Each Student-Athlete will receive a College Prep Workbook which will help them:

  • Create Realistic Performance, Athletic and Academic Goals
  • Build Professional Skills and Positive Character
  • Learn the Importance of Being a Role Model within Community
  • Compile Information on Schools & Universities you want to attend

Brevard College
"In pursuit of higher education and athletic excellence, Southwest Sports Institute's mentoring program combines professional skill development and character building to maximize success for our clients. We value a compassionate and sincere approach to provide the individual with the necessary tools for success.I attended Adam's seminar on how to be a proactive athlete, and I gained many skills that were helpful for me and my college decision. I learned that in order to get the results you want, you have get out there and contact the coaches and colleges of your choice. Now after my hard work and Adam's advice, I earned a football scholarship at Brevard College. It's very important to set goals, but even more important to follow through and do what needs to be done to accomplish them! Thanks again Adam."

McDowell High School- Teacher/Coach
"As a high school coach, it can be difficult to help student athletes reach their dream of playing college ball if they are not the very best in the area. After participating in Adam Halpern's seminar on Being a ProActive Athlete, I was able to take away many strategies to encourage my athletes. Taking the initiative to reach your goals by contacting coaches, making yourself available, and promoting your abilities as a an athlete with boldness and not arrogance helped several of my student athletes to obtain college scholarships from NCAA Division II and NAIA Division I and II colleges. I highly recommend anyone who works in athletics to participate in Adam's programs. You will not regret it!!!"
